Originally from Roanoke, VA, David Turner joined Andrew Consulting Engineers, P.C. in 2016. As a Project Engineer, David’s responsibilities include the analysis and design of low to mid-rise buildings, marine construction and the structural evaluation and repair of existing buildings and marine structures. David is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Tau Beta Pi engineering honor society.
Prior to Andrew Consulting Engineers, David worked as a graduate research assistant at Colorado State University. His work involved developing flood failure curves for bridges located along US 34 in the Big Thompson River Canyon. David also worked as a teaching assistant overseeing a materials lab where the properties of engineering materials were tested such as concrete, wood, and structural metals.
During college David was a member of the Virginia Military Institute football team where he walked on his freshmen year. He made the travel squad his sophomore year and earned a scholarship as well as the starting running back position his senior year. David maintained a strict academic, military, and athletic schedule during his tenure at VMI.
David currently is getting settled into Wilmington. In his free time, he enjoys recreational sports, snowboarding, and spending time with his family.
